Can you help a graduate prove what they can do and land a first contribution?
Graduates have knowledge; hosts need proof. Build one bridge — a portfolio, a clear opportunity, or a small scoped project.
Choose this track for the transition from study into opportunities and community contribution. Ongoing professional practice fits Imam & Alima 2.0; children’s learning fits Madrassah Next.

These are example challenges. You can also bring your own problem within this track. Aim for one complete user journey across the three-day build.
SEM-01Show skills beyond a certificate
The challenge
Help a graduate build a concise portfolio connecting their study and experience to skills a host organisation needs.
Show in your demo
Add a skill with evidence, request a review and show what a host sees. Clearly distinguish reviewed and unreviewed claims.
Start with
Create fictional graduate profiles, work samples and role descriptions. Discuss useful evidence with a seminary tutor or potential host.
SEM-02Find a useful first opportunity
The challenge
Connect a graduate with a relevant placement, mentoring opportunity or community role, with clear reasons for the suggestion.
Show in your demo
Match a fictional profile to an opportunity, explain the match and show how either side can express interest or decline.
Start with
Use a small fictional opportunity board with time commitments, skills and support offered. Keep final selection with the host.
SEM-03Bring scholarship into a community project
The challenge
Help a graduate turn a piece of research or an area of knowledge into a resource that answers a community organisation’s question.
Show in your demo
Connect a project request to relevant work, credit its sources and show a host reviewing a practical output.
Start with
Use a public or permissioned research extract and a fictional community project brief. Choose one audience and one useful output.
03 / What to demonstrate
Make the improvement visible.
Your demo should show a working journey, who it helps and the evidence behind your decisions. For this track, useful evidence includes:
- Skills are supported by evidence a host can understand.
- An opportunity has clear expectations and a visible next step.
- The graduate controls their profile and can understand a suggested match.
These are examples of evidence, not extra scoring categories. Every entry uses the same published judging criteria.
Let graduates control what is shared. Distinguish self-reported skills from reviewed evidence. Explain matching suggestions and leave recruitment decisions with people.
04 / Prepare & stay informed
Start with people and a small dataset.
Talk to someone who does the task, map the current steps and agree what improvement would matter. If you cannot speak to a practitioner, state your assumptions and explain how you would test them.
The examples above suggest material you can prepare yourself. Use fictional records, public information or material you have permission to use. Event datasets, named mentors and partner tools are still to be confirmed.
